Janet Shibley Hyde is Helen Thompson Woolley Professor of Psychology and of Gender & Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.  The author of Understanding Human Sexuality (12th ed., 2014, McGraw-Hill), her research has focused on psychological gender differences and similarities.  She has conducted numerous meta-analyses, including a meta-analysis of research on gender differences in sexuality (Petersen & Hyde, 2010).
