Board of Directors
Help shape the future of SSSS by serving on our Board of Directors. We are seeking passionate members from across our diverse, interdisciplinary community who are committed to advancing sexuality science and strengthening the Society. Whether you are an established leader or looking to take the next step in your professional service, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
This year, we are accepting nominations for the following positions:
This individual will serve SSSS for a three-year term, beginning in November 2026. The SSSS Treasurer serves on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. The Treasurer is responsible for the oversight and management of the financial stability of the organization. The Treasurer reports to the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the membership of SSSS
Treasurer (3-year term)
Secretary (2-year term)
This individual will serve SSSS for a two-year term, beginning in November 2026. The SSSS Secretary serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee and is responsible for keeping official records of the organization. The Secretary will keep the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee and will perform all duties incidental to the office of Secretary and other such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors and serve as a member of the Executive Committee.
Membership Chair (2-year term)
This individual will serve SSSS for a two-year term, beginning in November 2026 and works on The Society’s membership recruitment and retention for the term. The Membership Chair will also engage with members by helping them to understand and experience the benefits of belonging to The Society. They may perform other duties from time to time that may be assigned by the President or by the Board of Directors and will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Membership Committee.
At-Large Member (3 positions; 2-year terms)
These individuals will serve SSSS for a two-year term, beginning in November 2026. At-Large representatives serve as liaisons between SSSS committees and the Board of Directors. The At-Large Members report to the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the membership of SSSS.

After the Nominations Committee meets to discuss the nominees and approve the list of candidates, the Nominations Chair will forward the list to the SSSS President for the Board of Directors to vote on for final approval. The approved candidates will appear on two separate election ballots. SSSS professional members and student members can vote for the Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chair and Member-at-Large positions.
Election ballots will be distributed to the members in late July or early August. For more information about the Election Procedures, including nomination by petition and voting procedures, refer to the SSSS Bylaws, Article VII: Election Procedures (pages 10-11).

All positions are open to members who wish to contribute to SSSS.
Student Involvement Co-Chair (2-year term)
Student members elect the Junior Student Involvement Co-Chair each year. Co-Chairs serve one year as Junior Chair and one year as Senior Chair, helping foster student engagement, support student initiatives, and strengthen the student experience within SSSS. The Senior Student Involvement Co-Chair also serves as the Student Representative on the Board of Directors. Eligible candidates must be student members in good standing with at least two years remaining in an accredited degree program. Prior involvement with SSSS committees or as a conference ambassador is preferred. This is the only Board role for which students can be nominated.
