Committees

The SSSS Board of Directors manages the affairs of The Society as a policy-making body.

The Finance Committee is responsible for securing the financial health of SSSS.

The Membership Committee works on increasing member benefits, which also includes the Special Interest Groups and Mentorship program.

The Conference Planning Committee is responsible for all aspects of the SSSS Annual Conference, to include the scientific presentations.

The CE Committee works together to plan, review, and coordinate the CE Program offered by SSSS. Each committee member represents their respective CE organization(s) - - AASECT, APA, and/or NCHEC -MCHES®/CHES®. Currently, the CE Committee is looking to expand its home-study CE Program.

The Awards & Grants Committee consists of four subcommittees, each comprised of three SSSS members. The members serve as reviewers for five awards and two grants (Managed by the SSSS Awards & Grants Committee). There are an additional four awards and two grants that are managed by other committees, etc. within the SSSS organization. Refer to the SSSS Awards & Grants Policy for more information.

The Nominations and Elections Committee is responsible for securing nominations for office and reporting its findings to the Board of Directors.

The B-REDI Committee addresses equity and social justice issues within SSSS and beyond from an intersectional lens. Formerly known as Justice Equity Diversity Inclusion (JEDI). New Webpage coming soon!

The SOGIE Committee takes actions to make SSSS – and the world beyond SSSS – a more supportive and welcoming home for LGBTQ+ individuals.
