JEDI DISTINCTION

Since 2021, members of the JEDI committee reviewed posters, talks, symposium, and workshops to be offered at SSSS’s annual conference. We granted JEDI distinction to those submissions that reflected the values of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the study of sex and sexuality. We are continuing these efforts to Highlight and Elevate the work of scholars and practitioners who offer critical inquiries into the field, center the experiences of historically marginalized, uses strength or growth-oriented perspectives in the provision of services, or otherwise advance an awareness of the commitments of JEDI.

For the 2023 conference, accepted submissions that address power and privilege, decenter whiteness as normative, advance the field’s understanding of the experiences of Black, Indigenous and other People of color, or demonstrate other priorities of SSSS’s values statement on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion will be reviewed for the distinction of JEDI – related content.
